Thirty-six kilometers of water that split a continent. On one shore: Ottoman palaces and Byzantine walls. On the other: wooded hills and wooden mansions of old Istanbul. Best seen from the deck of your own boat with a glass of tea in hand.
The Bosphorus isn't just a view — it's a corridor of 2,000 years of history, lined with sights you can't fully see from land.
🏰
Dolmabahçe Palace
The Ottoman Empire's last imperial palace, with a shoreline facade best seen from the water. 285 rooms, 4.5-ton crystal chandelier inside.
🕌
Ortaköy Mosque & Bridge
The tiny baroque mosque framed by the towering 1973 Bosphorus Bridge — the most iconic postcard shot of Istanbul.
🏯
Rumeli Fortress
Mehmed the Conqueror built this fortress in just four months in 1452 to besiege Constantinople. Dramatic silhouette on the European shore.
🏡
Wooden yalı mansions
19th-century waterfront homes of Ottoman aristocrats. Still privately owned — the world's most expensive real estate by location.
🗼
Maiden's Tower
A small tower standing alone in the strait, featured in Turkish legend and countless films. Especially magical at dusk.
🐬
Dolphins (sometimes!)
Bottlenose dolphins regularly surface in the Bosphorus. No guarantees — but we've had a lot of surprised-delighted guests over the years.

FAQ
Before you sail
Yes — completely. The public Şehir Hatları ferries are cheap commuter boats (100+ passengers, fixed schedule, no stops). Our cruises are private boats (yours alone) with flexible route, refreshments, and a captain who slows down for photos. Totally different experience.
Daytime — better for photos of palaces and mansions in full detail, cooler in summer. Sunset — more romantic, golden light, city skyline lighting up at dusk. Couples and photographers pick sunset. First-time visitors pick daytime. Either way, you won't regret it.
Typical departure: Ortaköy, Kabataş, or Galata — all central, near most hotels. We arrange a pickup or give you a meeting point. Duration 2–4 hours depending on your chosen cruise.
Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen in summer. Light jacket even in summer — the sea breeze is cool. Phone / camera (obviously). Your captain has water, tea, basic snacks. For meals onboard, let us know ahead and we'll arrange catering.
Extremely safe. Boats are fully insured, licensed, life jackets onboard. Captains are local professionals with years on the Bosphorus. No swimming skills required — this is an on-deck experience, not a sailing lesson.
Absolutely — we've helped dozens. Flowers, champagne, photographer onboard, timed to hit sunset at the Bosphorus Bridge. Tell us on the form and we'll coordinate. These are some of our favorite bookings.
Yes — we often do guided morning tour (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, etc.) + afternoon Bosphorus cruise as one package. Check our Istanbul tours page for the 8 day-itineraries, or tell us what you want and we'll bundle it.
